Genetic Testing in Fullerton, CA

Introducing the Galleri Hereditary Cancer Test

Genetic Testing at Upper Echelon

Cancer screening traditionally focuses on individual types of cancer, such as mammograms for breast cancer or colonoscopies for colorectal cancer. But many cancers do not currently have routine screening tests. The Galleri® multi-cancer early detection (MCED) test offers an additional approach by screening for a cancer signal shared by more than 50 types of cancer with a single saliva sample.

Upper Echelon Medical offers Galleri testing at our Fullerton, California clinic for appropriate patients who want to take a more proactive approach to cancer screening. Galleri is designed for adults with an elevated risk of cancer, such as adults age 50 or older. It does not replace routine cancer screenings recommended by your healthcare provider.

Understanding Your Galleri Results

Cancer screening results can raise important questions, which is why physician involvement matters. At Upper Echelon Medical, testing can be considered within the broader context of your medical history, family history, symptoms, previous screenings, and overall health.

If Galleri detects a cancer signal, the result does not by itself confirm that cancer is present. Your physician can discuss the result with you and help coordinate appropriate diagnostic testing or specialist evaluation. If no cancer signal is detected, you should still continue routine preventative care and recommended cancer screenings.

Features of the Galleri Test

Early Cancer Detection - Detects cancer signals for over 50 types of cancer, many of which are not commonly screened for today, to allow for earlier treatment.

Testing With Ease - This cancer test utilizes a simple saliva sample, making it painless, non-invasive, and easily incorporated into a routine healthcare visit.

Actionable Results - If a cancer signal is found, the results can predict where in the body the cancer is coming from to help your healthcare provider guide your next steps.

Who Can Benefit From  a Galleri Cancer Test?

The Galleri test is recommended for older adults with an elevated risk for cancer, such as those aged 50 or older. It is not recommended if you are pregnant, 21 years old or younger, or undergoing active cancer treatment.

This test is a helpful screening tool and is intended to be used in addition or, and not to replace, other cancer screening tests your healthcare provider recommends.
